El projecte DE-ENIGMA Horizon 2020 és un gran projecte finançat per la UE. Estudia el potencial dels robots semblants als humans com a eines en l’educació en l’autisme – robots, intel·ligència artificial i autisme. Aquest projecte reuneix l’Institut d’Educació de la UCL i institucions associades d’arreu d’Europa, que representen coneixements tècnics i centrats en l’autisme. Aquest projecte de recerca explora la viabilitat de l’ensenyament assistit per robots com a part de l’educació sobre l’autisme. Especialment per als nens les habilitats socials, quotidianes o lingüístiques dels quals poden presentar barreres per participar en programes més «tradicionals».
